Most Americans favor the death penalty. According to a poll developed by the Pew Forum and the Pew Research Center, nearly two-thirds of Americans approve of capital punishment. While public opinion is still strongly in favor of the penalty, this level of favorability is at its lowest in 20 years and marks a significant decline from a high of about 75 percent in 1995.

Romans 13:1-4 “. . . rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.”
